After participating in competitive events during the day, students will have time to socialize with other members from around the world, meet and network with influential business leaders at their vendor booths.
There is one chapter program: The Chapter Awards Program and an individual program: The Merit Awards Program. The Chapter Awards Program will provide recognition at three levels; bronze, silver and gold.
The recognition level will be determined by the number and type of activities a chapter completes in each of the categories: Chapters will claim credit for activities by submitting a report consisting of Activity Report Sheets and documentation. Deca international business plan will submit their reports to the State Advisor or designee for verification of the Award Achievement level.
Marketing Representative Events These consist of a student taking a test, then making a presentation to the judges. There are 3 Marketing Representative Events: The participants will also indicate an appropriate budget and select media.
Fashion Merchandising Promotion Plan The Fashion Merchandising Promotion Plan provides the participant with the opportunity to developa seasonal sales promotion plan, using apparel and accessory items only, for a retail store and present the plan in a role-playing situation to the store manager.
Sports and Entertainment Promotion Plan The purpose of the Sports and Entertainment Promotion Plan is to provide an opportunity for theparticipants to demonstrate promotional competencies and other competencies needed by management personnel.
Professional Selling Events The Professional Selling Events provide an opportunity for participants to demonstrate skills needed for a career in sales. The guidelines for each of the Professional Selling Events have been consolidated to facilitate coordination of participant activities in each of the occupational categories.
This means the evaluation form will be the same for each occupational area. However, each occupational area will deliver a sales presentation for a different product.
New products, services, and target market customers prospects will be identified annually. DECA offers a comprehensive program of competitive events based on the occupational goals of its student membership and on the activities of chapters in high schools and postsecondary institutions.
Competitive events offered by DECA are replicated at the state level as well as at the chapter level. To do this, competitive events are designed to enable students to engage in activities that will extend their interests and skills for careers in their career cluster and measure via performance indicators the degree to which skills have already been acquired.
In effect, the competitive events meet the goals of curriculum by demonstrating occupational proficiency in specific career clusters. The number and type of role play depend on the event. Students participating in Principles of Business Administration Events compete individually in one 10 minute content interview.
Students participating in Individual Series Events compete individually in two 10 minute Role Play situations. Students who participate in the written event competitions are generally second or third year students.
The written event consists of a written project generally pages. Many DECA members choose to compete with a written project—something they have been working on all semester in their classroom. Members prepare the projects and submit them to DECA.
We then need judges to come in and spend time reading all of the projects in a chosen subject area. Student members are given specific guidelines and topics when they prepare the page papers.International Business Plan Event, Type of business proposed Name of DECA chapter Name of high school School address City, State/Province, ZIP/Postal Code ANALYSIS OF THE INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS SITUATION A.
